The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

book review by Mindy Gathman

What is it like to be a dragon? Fun? Scary? Horrible? Eustace Scrubb finds out when he runs away to get out of work. He finds an old dragon who had just died and crawls into its cave. He goes to sleep, and when he wakes up, he finds that he has been transformed into a dragon. He has an encounter with Aslan that changes him forever in two ways. One, he gets un-dragoned, two, he gets changed from his disagreeable, grumpy, annoying attitude to having an agreeable, non-annoying attitude.

This, and many other exciting adventures are found in a book called, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis. This book is about a young king named Caspian, who is trying to find seven lords that his evil uncle Miraz had sent out long ago to try and find the worlds end. Reepicheep is a talking mouse who is also trying to find the end of the world. Edmund, Lucy, and Eustace were pulled into Narnia through a picture in their own world. In the end, Caspian succeeds in finding all seven lords, and Reepicheep finds the utter east, where Aslan lives, and the children get home safely.

I have read this entire book.
